Wallingford will be transformed this weekend as hundreds of vintage and novelty vehicles parade through the town - and all for a good cause.

Event director Mark Brett has been involved in the fundraiser for 15 to 20 years and he said the Wallingford Vehicle Rally and Parade had "snowballed" over that time.

"We've donated gradually more and more each year and will help facilitate people raising funds for the different organizations that help the support the event," he said.

"It is quite a spectacle - the parade of cars.

"It's just about putting on an event for the town as well as raising money for local causes."

Crowds will again flock to the region on Sunday, May 12, with a special James Bond jaguar and a 105-year-old Wallingford Fire Service engine being some of the must-sees.

Oxford Mail: There will be an impressive array of cars and other vehicles on display in Wallingford.

Mr Brett said his team were aiming to raise £20,000-25,000 for charities including SeeSaw.

"SeeSaw is my personal charity of choice, which gives counselling to children that are going through bereavement," Mr Brett said.

He said it would also be a day of celebration for the Wallingford Fire Service as they celebrated a century of helping the community.

The general public are welcome to attend on foot and make a donation on entry.

The parade of cars, bikes and other vehicles will leave Hithercroft Sports Park at 10am before heading east towards Reading Road.

The parade will travel up Bosley Way into Calvin Thomas Way and then down Wantage Road into the town via Station Road.
